The end had me a little confused. Did Tim die? It was only a shot to the leg, but with the way they played back through the memories of the boys when they were younger and with Tim slowly closing his eyes and everything fading into white, I got the impression that he actually died from his leg wound?
I'm not sure if anyone could have a definite answer, but I'd at least like to get some opinions about whether or not he survived the whole ordeal.
No, he new his friends were dead so he was thinking of them.
shareI think it was left up to the viewer/audience to decide whether he dies or not. True, it was a leg wound however, if it hit him in the thigh, as I believe it did, a large-caliber bullet such as he was shot with could easily have severed his femoral artery which would cause him to bleed to death in a matter of minutes; almost as quickly as if his throat was cut.
shareWhen the femoral artery is cut, blood literally gushes out. It takes a lot of blood loss to bleed to death that quickly. OTOH, it might not take that much to pass out. Esp. considering that getting shot is pretty painful.
I think the film is ambiguous.
Just saw that scene again on IFC and Tim was in fact hit right in the middle of the thigh. Therefore, I think his femoral artery probably was opened and he sat there slowly bleeding to death as his life passed before his eyes.
