stupid disney vault

i hate how disney movies like escape to witch mountain (which i happen to love) get put into the disney vault and stay there forever until they take it back out and resotr it or something stupid like that. i mean the 1975 version is out of dvd/vhs and the 1995 version ISN'T...that makes me soooo mad...don't get me wrong... i love the old version as much as the recent but the recent is SOOOO buch better!. plus you know erik von detten...who doesn't love him?? honestly..if the 1995 version of escape to witch mountain is in the disney vault LET IT OUT! i need it..well i don't NEED it but i WANT it! soo..someone needs to get it back! the old one was sooo cheesey. i mean having there names me Tia and Tony...flying vans...flash backs to the past...CHEESEY...way too predictable...so yeah...new one...mych better...don't you guys agree??

reply

i no what u mean! I hate that and disney plays the really lame movies every night! I lOVE escape to witch mountain!

reply

Is that why it isn't commercially available? I always heard about the vault, but I never thought they actually put stuff in there. I just thought they said they would as a gimmic and then kept it out in the end, like that whole beanie baby retirement in 2000. The 1995 version of Escape to Witch Mountain was one of my favorite movies when I was younger. I watched it every time if was on TV. The twins, and the purple light, etc. It's a classic movie. It would be incredible if it was ever made available. I would buy it in a second. They don't even show it on TV anymore because disneys come out with all these new movies that they're busy showing now. I never saw the original, but this ones such a great one I don't feel a need to.

omg you guys have no idea how much this is driving me nuts. I'm in my teens and i still remember those great movies that all of a sudden disappeared. One of my personal favorites were suzy Q and that gets less knowledge of ever existing than another fav of my escape to witch mountain. I so desperately wish disney let the GD movie out and stop playing the idiotic movies they've been playing over and over. It's so frustrating!

reply

I LOVED suzie q. i din't think anyone else remembered. i also remeber this other movie about sisters who switched bodies.there names were like alexa granger and somethin. it was called wish upon a star! just membered!

reply

Oh my goodness. how weird. im 17 and my friends and i just had a huuuuuge conversation about all of these disney movies from when we were younger. Just yesterday we went out and rented "escape to witch mountain" not knowing it was made in the 70's and were really disapointed that it wasnt the newer one from when we were kids. Good luck looking everyone!

reply

oh my god! i was thinking about wish upon a star yestersay in the shower! i think of everything in the shower lol. but seriously. damn you disney vault! release these movies. theyre like e.t. how stephen speilberg waited like 40 yrs to release it

reply

I loved that movie, Wish Upon A Star! It had Katherine Heigl in it who is way more popular now!

I remember watching this on the Disney Channel when I was really young, like in first grade. I LOVED this movie! I remember the purple light and they put their hands together and stuff! I was just talking to my friend about old Disney movies we loved like Hocus Pocus and stuff. The new ones are stupid. I want the DVD!

HELP!!

Does anyone remember the Disney movie about the mannequin. I remember this movie but don't remember the name! It was someones Mom or something. PLEASE email me [email protected] if you know!

reply

I think you're talking about the made-for-TV movie, A Mom for Christmas, starring Olivia Newton-John. It was about a store mannequin that came to life after a girl wished for a mom for Christmas, since hers had passed away.

I remember watching that movie when I was younger. I could never find it playing again though. ABC Family apparently played it last year on Christmas Day so maybe they'll do the same this year.

reply

it was played this christmas some time...in 2006. It was played only once the whole season though.i used to lovee the movie

Speaking of old movies from our childhoods that we can't remember the names of...
There's some movie that two of my friends are always trying to remember that I can't help them with at all. All they can remember is that there were some kids and they rented different moms. I Know that's like barely anything, but if anyone has any ideas at all, that'd be great. =) They've literally been trying to figure this out for years

reply

I think it's called "Trading Mom" the one with the mommy market? I'm pretty sure that girl from "My Girl" is in there too.

reply

I do believe Sissy Spacek is in that one.

reply

omgggggg yessss, i loved the mommy market movie!! i love all these movies, i feel so understood right now LOL!

i think i know every word to zenon: girl of he 21st century. And i LOVED the band they were freaking out about, ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM, make my heart go BOOM BOOM, my supernova girl...disney sucks, i dont even see these anymore...

reply

I agree! I hate that Disney does this. They do it to release the movies later and make more money out of it. It is always about the money and not about pleasing fans. I would love to see this movie again soon. I loved it when I was a kid.

reply

i totally agree about the stupid disney vault and what about old Disney shows? i want MMC, i want Flash Forward,, i even want the movies that were play in MMC episodes.

anyone know where i can find any of those?

reply

Oh, that's what the vault is!

I thought it was for storage, not put it away and "forget" about it.

I have the 1970s movies on DVD and recently found out about this movie and the tv movie (Beyond Witch Mountain).

So where is this stuff?

Sadly, Disney is not big on releasing stuff for their audiences anymore. I'm still waiting for full DVD sets of some of their cartoons.

reply

the 1995 remake of escape to witch mountain is definitely not in the disney vault because it was an original disney channel TV movie. The vault is something that was around long before the 90's, even back in the 80's to keep their classic animated movies in demand and like new for younger generations. They would only release them at certain times and if you didn't get it then, you would have to wait like a decade to get it. I remember back in the 80's I couldn't get snow white on tape because it was in the vault until the 90's and it was annoying...

also, people were talking about wanting to see wish upon a star (great movie) which is out on dvd because i bought it about a year or so ago, and it is still so enjoyable! lol.

I don't know if or when they would put this 95 remake on dvd, but it is on ioffer if anyone wants to purchase it. hope that helps all you lovers of this remake...

reply

You can download this movie on youtube.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. I'm a 90's kid and i remember all of these movies. The internet site that helps me get my disney flick fix is Blinkx. com. it does'nt have movies like suzie Q or underwraps(my favorite) but it does have escape to witch mountain(1995) wich I was so excited about! Some are there and some just aren't. Just figured Id pass on the word, if your ever trying to find a movie that you REALLY wanna see or see again, try blinkx.com.

I miss this movie! This was from when DCOMS were actually WORTH watching...

Okay, I may be nuts and just remembering something really odd and totally unrelated but wasn't there a movie (possibly a DCOM, though maybe not) about like a girl and her brother(?) and something to do with a leprechaun and a magic rock or something? And I'm not talking about Teen Witch or the one leprechaun movie (Luck of the Irish)...

If I'm crazy, just tell me, I don't mind!

HP will always be better though.

There is a Feature Films for family movie called "Behind the Waterfall" that is about a boy Tommy and his cousin Alex who think that this old man (Mr. Connors)is a leprechaun and the go on this adventure to find a missing fairy flute. That might be what your thinking about. If that helps.
