My explanation of it.

People are seeming to think they imagined the devil but my idea is this the devil wasn't as much imagined but he took the form of the leader of Clean Madrid and the ultimate irony was by taking a human form he had made himself weak and while the baby was dead the Anti-Christ so was the Messiah as evidenced by the guy being electrocuted.

The devil knew when he saw them in goat form he'd been beaten but still he tried to win. But by Angel signing his soul to the devil he had in fact averted the Apocalpyse, yet the devil wasn't going to give up.

The end was to show that the devil was real but since he taken a human form he was killed easily for now. And the ultimate irony was no one knew they had done so.

It was a trip it was real in my opinion the drugs just made the task seem all the more strange and surreal. But I do believe without a doubt that devil figure he saw on the scaffolding was the real devil.

To prove this remember the death metal head was laughing his head off on the building he knew he had won because the devil couldn't kill them he had growled at them and walked away.

These are simply my thoughts on the movie, which I consider a masterpiece.

I believe it was all a drug-trip in their minds.

Yea, it's rather like that one reviewer who said that we are the 'Antichrist'. I think everyone has their own analysis of this movie. I don't know if that was the intention.

All in all, I think this is one of the best Antichrist films ever. I LOVE this movie.

Saw this film years ago and had a lot of fun watching it, because it's just that damn crazy. A film about a lapsed priest who turns his back on the church, a hopped-up pill-popping record store metalhead employee, and the TV psychic they kidnap along the way, decide to go all out and stop the Antichrist from taking over the world? Hell, what's there to not laugh at? It is funny in some parts, especially when the three nutty protagonists race against time to try and stop said Antichrist. Don't know why this took 4 years to get released in the U.S. (it's possible the U.S. distributors didn't know what the hell to make of it in the first place). It's a trip to watch, an interesting and funny spin on the end of the world theme (it was released around the same time as other films cashing in on the end-of-the-world Y2K scare at the time---THE NINTH GATE,END OF DAYS,LOST SOULS,and STIGMATA, films like that.)
