What nationality was the TV psychic in the movie?

Just wondering if anyone knows, I'm guessing Italian but I can't remember for sure and it was one of the few questions on my Recent Spanish Cinema test that I wasn't too sure about... can't find it anywhere... anyone remember/know? Thanks!

I did this film for my film studies degree, he was definately Italian. Apparently his slimy, greasy, charlatan persona reflects the dislike that the Spanish seem to have for the Italians!!

In general there is a lot of warmth in Spain for Italy and its culture and people. There is an affinity for Italy as another Mediterranean country, the origin of the Romance languages, the foundation of European union in antiquity, etc.

But the psychic character reflects the recent phenomenon of many "trash TV" programs emanating from Italy, through the Berlusconi empire. They are blamed for lowering the level of Spanish TV; while the multiplicity of channels was supposed to be an improvement, trash TV shows with pop singers, reality shows, psychics and other talk shows have stepped in to fill the void.

It is similar to the way the U.S. is often blamed for fouling the cinema of foreign nations with rubbish products that are easy to translate and market.

WOW!!! Where did you get this BS? It's very common in Europe to poke fun at each other but what you are saying is truly disgusting. Hate Italians much?
