Rubbish! Warning: SPOILERS

I though this movie was slow, boring, and pointless.
NONE of the characters were likeable.

SPOILERS!!!!

Basically, this followed the story of a weirdo, moody French woman named Sarah who lives in Ireland (why? I don't know). She finds an American guy washed up on "her" beach (how he got there was never explained either!). This disturbed woman who is delusional, as she speaks to a statue, traps the American guy into staying with her. If she is so hard-pressed for company, you would think she would move closer to town, as she is not that far away from civilsation. The creepy guy who delivers supplies, you are not sure if it was a good thing or bad thing when she stabs him in the back with an ax. What a creep!
Also, the American guy is an idiot, I think if he wanted out that bad, he would have quitely explored his options instead of blurting everything out to Sarah. If he had any brain cells, he would have left on foot, as opposed to building a raft and sailing away in freezing north Atlantic waters.
There was no character development and the story was *beep* The ending was a big disappointment. I would have liked to see this woman get what she deserves. Viewers aren't able to grasp the situation, and learn each characters' story. What a waste of time!

I thought it was strung together beautifully... The slowness only made it more compelling for me, although I do agree somewhat about character development. But it worked for me, in a way it worked better, I felt like I was imposing on this strange story with this eccentric sculptor and this lost nobody with no recollection of his own identity.

It was so simple and quaint and psychotic and interesting, just like a work of art. I felt more connected to these characters than any romcom Hollywood flick that gets produced. It was like breathing new air, as cliché as that probably sounds.

Independent filmmaking is something more people should appreciate, as it is like witnessing an artist work a blank canvas, they can create whatever they want, not what a money hungry corporation wants.
