Special Edition DVD?

Talk about a movie in SERIOUS need of a special edition version! I'm talking anamorphic widescreen, director's/producers/cast commentary or commentaries, any behind the scenes footage, both the R rated and Unrated versions (for completists), could possibly include the soundtrack on a separate disc,... so much could be done with this gem! While it's been hated by many, it really does represent the feelings of a time and place in the mid 90s for a lot of teens making it in a bleak world -- so much so that I would deem it Criterion Collection worthy, but saying that is just going to get me in trouble so if you disagree with my Criterion comment, you don't need to reply, I already know what you're going to say. I just like the movie, it's powerful and bleak, yet immature and funny in an irresponsible way.

In any case, I wrote to Lions Gate who I guess I'm assuming holds the rights to this one since they own a lot of the Trimark and Vidmark properties (I could be wrong on who holds the current rights, but it's worth a shot -- and if Anchor Bay were to put it out, I'd be camping out in front of Best Buy to get a copy). Maybe if we get enought letter writing fans out there to jot them a note, we'll get something in return because this movie has too much energy going for it to just be released in the bare bones DVD edition we've gotten so far.
