why is the dvd...

full frame? i have not been able to find a widescreen release of this film anywhere! i never had the chance to see it in the theatre (i live in a cultural black hole), and would love to see it in widescreen. anyone around here know what is up with this? did araki shoot it that way? help!!!

I THINK Araki shot it full frame. Remember this was VERY low budget. I saw it in a theatre years ago and I don't remember it being in wide screen

It was released full-screen (unrated) and letter-boxed (R-rated) on VHS way back in the day. I had both, but lost them over the years. (sucks!) I would hope they release it unrated and wide-screen in the future. (hint, hint...)

I just watched the full-frame DVD today, and I doubt that it was shot that way. The framing is terrible; so either Araki is a director with little visual sense of the DVD transfer only represents a portion of the actual widescreen frame.
