I've noticed how many people use the word "castration" in discussion of this film's ending. I don't know anything but the unrated version, so I can't vouch for possible editing and misleading, but there is 100% no doubt that Jordan's entire set of equipment gets lopped off by the hedge trimmers in the attack. What's left of it is fed to Red.

Castration would be livable (though I might not want to), but this was certain death. He bled to death, chance of 99%. He was just involved in sex with a lot of blood flowing there. The blood in the scene is the explanation of that. He would have bled to death right there. This makes sense, too, if you buy into the fall-from-innocence theory, and how innocence always dies. (And I'd say that if my stuff was chopped off, I would FIND a way to be dead...)

It's by far the only film that I've been genuinely disturbed by. It's just brutal, and scary... but it ain't simply castration, kids.

I don't agree with the statement that they left him for dead. The other writer was correct; if aroused down their, the blood flow would be extreme and he would bleed to death in minutes. It would almost be the equivalent of slitting someone's throat and then hanging them upside down; all the blood would just go out. I really don't feel like they abandoned him. Amy killed all of those involved. If they would have taken him it would have been pointless.

Castration refers to the cutting off of the balls! Not the dick, so Jordan was NOT castrated. It is quite clear in the film that his whole cock was lopped off, not just his binky balls.

True, the ending doesn't actually tell you he's dead, but getting your dingaling cut off while erected will cause a massive blood loss. However, I wonder if he even was still aroused by that time, as the events are definitely *not* things that would give Jordan a hard-on.

Yes, he died. It IS CLEAR AS THE SUN they cut off his thingy and he DIED right there and then.

maybe on youtbe or something they have the movie ending, the real one, somewhere.

I probably would have given the movie a 5/10, but that scene was brilliant, and bumped it up to a 6. I am not into cramming as much nasty stuff into a movie as possible, but I think it would have been better if they were more graphic in that scene, to make it truely memorable.

It isn't castration, the procedure is actually called nullification. It is very liveable as long as you get the bleeding stopped asap.

You could and would bleed to death from castration, look on Wikipedia. It wouldn'[t even take all that long if the wound wasn't cauterised.
