I looked it up and his nationality is German, English, Irish, French, African and Cherokee. He is a great deal more white then ANYTHING else(f.y.i. There are white Africans). I hate when white people(9/10 of the time this is said or done by someone the person is white, just saying) feel the need to say that they are 1/6,1/8,1/10, or 1/12 Native american or Hispanic ect. like it means they're mixed or something. lol. It's just stupid. If you are less then a quarter of anything else but white then you are WHITE. I'm not saying Depp goes around doing this but you definitely feel the need to do so in his stead, So, to that, let me say... The guy is WHITE.
I'm half white myself but i swear man some white people are stupid when it comes to there ethnicity... Have you seen Couples Retreat with Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell? When someone said something about Hispanics and Kristen's character felt the need to say she was 1/12 Latina... That was no over exaggeration or a joke. I see that sht all the time and it makes me want to laugh in their face.

Just because a person is 1/8 or 1/10 of something doesn't mean hes mixed, it means he white. Hate it to when people say like that.
And yes, he is amazing in this one. I think its one of his best roles.
I'm melungeon on my mother's side. Fun stuff. I look white as hell, but my DNA says, "Portuguese, American Indian, African, and White European." I, like Depp, am proof that if you mix all the "races" together, we come out as really tan white folks with nice lips and big eyes.

Frankly I can see a lot of differences in "white" people, a french chick looks different than a British or Irish chick.. an Irish chick looks different than a British chick... and on and on... just because you can't tell the difference doesn't mean the rest of the world can't.
