"Virtue Of My Mother" and "How Many"

Hey all :)

I think we're still pretty messed up as a society. This movie is more than twenty years old, about as old as I am, and no one on this board has had an issue with some of its messages. It's an amazing movie and I've given it an 8, but it doesn't mean I didn't take issues with some of its dialogue.

1- I want to know: How come Don Juan DeMarco thinks so highly of his mother and inherently believes that she is extremely pure and sincere, and would never ever cheat on his mother and at the same time he can sleep with another man's wife ? He views this aspect as "virtue" so he knows it is something sacred and valuable, so why the hell does he prey on another women's virtue ?!

2- This is not about feminism or men or equality or anything, this is about love:
How come you leave the love of your life because he/she has slept with a lot of other people before ? What's done is done. The important part is that they stay sincere and that's it. I don't think it makes a difference at all.

Thank you.
