It's damn entertaining. Hard to say if it's better than the first, they're just both so good. Either way we can all agree it's better than the 2nd.

I can’t decide whether I prefer 2 or 3. Very different. I love the disaster movie quality of 2, and the fact that it’s an escalating situation in a limited environment like the original. It’s really absorbing, escalates brilliantly, and it might have the best kill-the-bad-guys ending.

3 of course has a notoriously weak ending but the rest of it is fantastic, ‘a supercharged slab of fun’ as I seem to recall Empire Magazine calling it. It’s got the McTiernan charm and sophistication, the performances are universally great and the cinema verité camerawork was revolutionary - shaky-cam before Bourne.

4 and 5 naturally don’t even count as Die Hard films. Willis’ cognitive decline must have begun around 2007.

This is the only Die Hard sequel I like. But no it's not better than the original. At least not to me.

The first is exponentially the best. But I think part 3 is definitely better than part 2.

No. Sam Jackson’s character is terminally annoying, as Jackson always is.

My second-best Die Hard is the unpopular Live Free or Die Hard. It has the most inventive action sequences in the franchise and it’s directed by Wiesman, whom I like as the director of the Underworld franchise and who gets to cum inside
Kate Beckinsale.

Yes agreed, I love this film it’s so entertaining. It just flows so well doesn’t it..such great action, performances etc.

I always got the impression that this film is a big F*** Y** from John McTiernan to Renny Harlin after the latters attempt at a Die Hard sequel. I enjoyed 2 a lot at the time but 3 is so much better in every way. The New York setting makes for some fantastic scenes and Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson both do a great job. It still holds up remarkably well today and is always worth watching. Great film.
