Last big film w/o cgi?


Rewatching it now and it's nice seeing all the practical effects.

Oh it's definitely either this and True Lies.

After 96 until The Matrix in 99 there is this awkward period where CG is used but it still looks like ass, and it's most just CGI over regular film so it looks extra garbage. The Matrix is the first to reverse it and use CG backgrounds with actors over top of it. That eventually leads us to now where everything is just CG entirely regenderd on its own using some footage.

Interesting thing to think about, Lethal Weapon 4 comes to mind. That was 1998 I believe. Another poster said something about True Lies, I think there may have been some CGI with the jet stunts near the end.

Oh come on, how could you miss the aqueduct sequence? That features some god awful mid 90's CGI if I ever saw some.

I think there was some blue screen but I don't remember CGI.

Yeah that was blue screen, but was the water real? It looks odd.
