Uncut Version?
Does anyone know if RR is planning on an uncut version of this going to DVD? I want to see all that unused footage; the crotch gun, the big gunfight at the end, etc.
Kari Byron can bust my myth anytime!

I am afraid to say that we will never see the missing scenes

Why not? I don't see why Rodriguez couldn't ever release a director's cut, provided he still has the original footage intact. That'd be awesome. Friggin' MPAA, they ruin everything. Bunch of bastards. ):<

Apparently he never filmed the final gunfight.
shareI thought I read somewhere that he DID film it, but because of the way he handled blood squibs and stuff (the guns were like paintballs, practically, if I remember correctly), and the MPAA didn't like that, and they wanted so many cuts to the final gunfight (and just about everything else) that he just did away with the whole thing.

Hmm yeah I might have got confused there. Seems they also trimmed Tarantino's head getting blown off, that scene definitely feels truncated. A director's cut of this film would certainly be welcome, you'd think since Rodriguez cuts everything himself he'd have the footage anyway, obviously there's some other reason for it not happening
shareYou may be right... :(

I've been waiting for the extended cut for years, why no one ever asks Rodriguez about it in interviews is beyond me. This is for sure the best movie he's ever made and if anything deserves to be given a deluxe edition its Desperado. The shootouts in this are classic 90s action and having the huge end shootout would be one of the best ever and unlike anything they'd ever make again.
shareThat shootout with bucho and his thugs would've been badass to watch, I already love this film but that shootout at the ranch would've been *beep* sweet lol
