He was stupid to fight with Cutty IMO

If he had stayed home with his woman & baby then Cutty would never
been a part of their life. As the main protagonist I didn't find him
very likeable, he should've been smart & worked with Cutty to get a
leg up even if Cutty was junk in his eyes.

I have missed feelings about Cutty - He was giving Juanita money to help put food on the table and during the stairwell scene, Cutty told Anthony if he was in a jam, he would loan him money - That sounds pretty nice to me.

There is no proof that Juanita was messing around with him either.

Cowboy tells Anthony he was bangin her while he was gone, and when Anthony asks whos baby shes pregnant with she says "I'm *beep* him", I'm sure a pimp wouldnt hand a bunch of 100's to a girl hes not getting a lil "suttin suttin" from.

reply

First off, he didn't know about the baby until he was already in the service, second, yes, Cutty was banging Juanita, he even insinuates to Anthony that he was now benefiting from things he got Juanita into, and lastly, Cutty was doing anything for anybody, without expecting something in return, be it sex from Juanita, or having Anthony work for him, because he wasn't getting his hands dirty

It was more of a pride thing...any reasonable grown man wouldnt feel right depending on another grown man to take care of him and his family, especially a man that was fcking his girl while he was serving in the war. Anthony didnt wanna look like a fool.

reply

Exactly! I dont blame him one bit. Do u know how low that makes a man feel? To depend on some pimp to take care of your family (one of whom is most likely smashin your girl). Thats insulting. I wouldn't blame any man for being p'ed off about that.

Cutty was unlikeable.
