Who played Helen Prejean when becoming a nun?

Who was it that played Helen Prejean when she was becoming a nun, which it showed at the beginning of the film? She wasn't in the film's credits and isn't listed on here, either. I'm just curious because she looks like a fairly recent actress, but I can't remember who. It's driving me nuts.

Any ideas?

Perhaps it was the actual Helen Prejean?

I was wondering the same.
I thought maybe it's Ava Amuri, Sarandon's daughter, but she would've been too young when they filmed this, I'd think.

Yeah, much too young. She plays Helen when she was real little, in a scene when she's laying down or sick or something. I can't remember for sure.

I'm confused...you say "fairly recent actress", but the movie is over 20 years old.
