Similar to "In Cold Blood"

Just saw this for the first time tonight after seeing "In Cold Blood" again a few weeks ago. Same sort of narration, with a final kind of sympathetic nod to the killers at the end. I don't buy it. They both committed a horrible, brutal crime and did not deserve any mercy. ICB had Truman Capote as the sympathetic observer, here it was a nun. It both cases, it was misplaced sympathy for brutal psychopathic killers who got exactly what they deserved.
