The meaning of the title Dao [The Blade]

Tao or Dao: 道 is a Chinese word meaning 'way', 'path', 'route'...
"Tao signifies the primordial essence or fundamental true nature of the Universe (and ourselves). Tao is not a 'name' for a 'thing' but the underlying natural order... It is thus "eternally nameless” and to be distinguished from the countless 'named' things (visible forms and structures) which are considered to be its manifestations..."

One could sense this film is a philosophical exploration of what it means to be a true self, in a similar way as Seven Swords did ten years later. There's a nameless or invisible quality to both films, so much seems to be transcending a visibility by leaving a lot to be rather envisioned and imagined by an audience as participators to the finished product.
