I honestly have not been more angered at a character in a movie before as I was with Gail, except perhaps Bryce Dallas Howard's character in The Help. The last scene with Dexter and Eric's mother is one of the best acted and heart-wrenching scenes in the history of film. Great film, now one of my favorites (I was kind of slow at getting to watch it, saw it for the first time last night).
shareI agree. It just wasn't that she was a bigot towards Dexter, she also seemed to be abusive and neglectful toward her own son. I hope that after the end of the movie, Erik keeps his promise and starts visiting Dexter's mom more, if only to have a positive adult in his life.

I think that whenever Erik said, 25 cents" to Dexter's mother, he meant that they will stay close. But after Linda pushed Gail against the wall, I am pretty sure she got the point that she was being a terrible person, about many different things.
