No they aren't... At the time this movie was made, the percentage of serial killers who were black was around 20%, which is a huge amount considering black men only made up around 6% of the US population. White men actually offend under their demographic.

I doubt that if you asked someone in law enforcement what their definition of a serial killer was, it would be the same as someone's definition who works in the media.
So any statistics about serial killers will be flawed.
