Basically Doug Corwin, Mr. Denig, and Rick get into a gunfight over the disc, and Danielle hacks the security system and triggers the silent alarm. Colony security arives and shoots down Mr. Denig.

I know this was a very long time ago but I thought I answered a little more in detail.

Corwin knocks out Leslie, Danielle, and Andy with the spray he used on the Bensons in the beginning. He goes to Rick and pressures him for the CD. To make sure it was the real deal, he had Rick run the CD. Denig then talks crap about how he had high hopes for Rick being in the colony and that the Colony was their only safe haven from the crime. Danielle, the only one that came to after being knocked out, was able to call through the silent alarm Colony security. She also turned the lights out in the house giving Rick the opportunity to knock the gun Corwin had at him out of his hand. They struggle/fight Corwin pulls a knife out on Rick and just as he prepares to stab him, Rick throws him off the balcony of the stairs and Corwin falls right into the spikes of that ugly sculpture Denig gave them during the "housewarming" party. Proper sendoff in my opinion.

Denig, holding the gun knocked out of Corwin's hand in the struggle, goes to Corwin's body and takes the CD, and exits out the house backwards with 5/6 Colony security officers locked and loaded. He's given the warning to drop his weapon, Denig turns around and tries to tell them not to shoot, but they riddled him with bullets before he got the chance to say it. Rick hands the CD with the files to his brother the cop.

The final scene shows the family having a cookout in the house they considered buying in the first place, someone asks where Rick was and they find him on top of the roof looking at a view that was just as good as the view from a house on the hill in the Colony. The End.
