I came to this board looking for a thread with this title. Thought for sure I'd find one! So..since there are no threads with this title I will start one. The line is so funny and we can only imagine what was so "nasty" that she had to keep repeating the fact that she saw "it" several times! Love this movie!

I've just seen Cold Comfort for the first time. I liked the way the rest of the family mumbled the same line as the old biddy spoke it at the family gathering. I was joining in myself well before the end. What a great catch line.

shareA belated "thank you" for pointing out the obvious manipulation of her family with that one phrase all of her life (or more likely by the time she became the matriarch of the present clan). The line is hilarious but that she merely had to utter/groan it to get her way all that time is the better joke...
Just watched this again and can't think of another since that's been as dour and funny.
I have started saying it myself since seeing this movie back in '96. But my cats don't quite like it.
