Why is the stated running time incorrect?

This movie on IMDB has a stated running time of 95 minutes, but the Amazon.COM DVD listing shows a running time of 105 minutes.

It seems the DVD listing is correct, and IMDB is flat wrong. I recorded this movie just today on Universal HD via my DVR based on the 95 minute running time (I recorded 98 minutes) and missed the last 6 or 7 minutes.

Why can't IMDB check/use the DVD listing for the proper running time, since IMDB is owned by Amazon?

This isn't the first movie to have a wrongly stated running time on IMDB. From now on, it looks like you'll need to check the actual DVD's running time for full accuracy.

as with many films, there are two versions. This particular film was made for UK television, but released theatrically in Canada (and the USA). These two versions have different run times as they are different edits. Both are available and it would depend on which one you are recording... hardly the fault of IMDB
