Martin Scorsese and Spike really hit it hard with this one :D

Yup "bro" is Italian slang, correctly portrayed by the film. We're talking the scene where the cops interrogate the drug dealers in the beginning of the film. One cop, named Thumper, who probably is Italian or Norman (given that the word "Thump" comes from Middle English, which is Norman), uses the word "bro". Also it's not portrayed as black slang even though one guy says "brotha" when interrogating the suspects. Thumper sincerely means it cause he taps Strike on the shoulder when says it -- I thought the fella was a likabale character :D, whereas the guy who said "brotha" was saying it while he was brutally and viciously holding Scientfic's tongue, which clearly means he was it in a derisive sarcastic tone.

Spike Lee is smart, not these clowns like Terrance Howard who are stupid.

Spike is awesome. That Annabella Sciorra follows him on Twitter shows what a smart lady she is :D

This is a proper black film. In terms of how good it was -- better than "Straight Outta Brooklyn." Spike is a disciplined master of film. His movies never fail to deliver. :D
