This movie screams for a blu-ray...

...as do all of Jeunet's films. When I think of watching a high-def movie, the first thing I think is visual splendor. For me, this film is the height of visual splendor. All of Jeunet's films have that quality (a bit less notciable for Alien: Resurrection). I'm sure Sony will eventually put it out on blu-ray but the wait will be frustrating. I was lucky enough to see this four times in the theatres and I'd like to see it again (many times) as close to that as possible.
On a side note, I see alot of people comparing the visuals to BioShock. Well that is being made into a film. Who thinks Jeunet should team up with Caro and make that film? It could be incredible or at least incredible to look at.

I managed to find a HDTV rip on the internet from a channel called Arte HD. I don't want to risk the fury of IMDB by direct linking, but do not lose hope for it is out there.

And yes, it looks absolutely gorgeous in HD. I think I'll be seeing green everywhere for the next month :)
