City of Lost Children escapees: Monster Inc and The Cell

Saw this movie for the first time now and gave it eight stars for imagination and visuals.
This must surely be where the idea for Monsters Inc. came from?
And when Miette had to hook into Little Brothers dreams it's not difficult to imagine young Tarseem Singh watching avidly, inspired by this visually baroque fairytale, spawning the idea for The Cell then and there.
