Yes he should have been holding a 9x18mm Makarov, or perhaps a 7.62 x 25mm Tokarev pistol.
Of course it was filmed in 1995 so Hungary was already post-Soviet. A little annoying detail that a Russian soldier would be holding an Austrian pistol.

I concur. We could stand to learn a lot from that. No waiting 20 - 25 years and then go to sleep. No groups of people trying to get a "stay" because he was troubled. Swift and appropriate justice.

When you find yourself fighting harder for killers than justice for their victims, someone needs to shake you.

Justice for the victims is not what lady liberty is all about - have you considered relocation to Russia? That system may perhaps better answer to your aspirations..

The problem with American Justice is it takes no long.

Less crimes would happen if criminals faced actual consequences.

Kill all people who commit murder in 1 year after being convicted.

See how crime drops.

Exactly. Negative reinforcement is one of the strongest deterrents in human history when appropriately executed (pun intended).
