Can't believe anyone likes this crap...

It's hard to imagine how such an interesting serial killer story could be made into such a boring, shallow, and worthless film.

Boring? Not to me.
Shallow? Most certainly not.
Worthless? No.

0 for 3 is bad.

In what way was the movie boring or shallow? Did you expect it to be more about the killer than the people that caught him?

reply

The people who caught him were cliched and stereotyped pieces of cardboard just as the killer was. None of the characters whatsoever in the film were interesting. Nor was the cinematography or anything else. That's what I'm complaining about... it's boring and worthless with no redeeming value anywhere.

Since it was based on actual people and events, I would venture to guess that's how the real-life people behaved.

reply

I would venture the guess that the movie was inaccurate, as most crappy movies "based on actual people and events" are.

Same could be said for some reviews ...

reply

Ha! You are right, GoodSo. Too many people have been spoiled by Hollywood garbage. I'm sure the reviewer would have preferred Citizen X if Burakov's wife were having an affair with Donald Sutherland, or if it showed Chikatilo's brains spattered all over the wall after he was shot.

I can't believe people loved AVATAR or IRONMAN 3

I can't believe we all like different things?

Sorry I loved this movie since the first time I saw it in the late 90's.

Now I record it every time I can on HBO and I just re watch it.

This is a masterpiece.

They spend no mental energy in posting up contrary comments with simple generalities and no reasonable arguments, then sit back and enjoy the show as others get all worked up trying to point out the obvious lack of appreciation.

Here's the formula: Find a picture that many respect; simply trash it. Find another that people despise; simply praise it.

It's very likely their sole social interaction.

True, but the moronic OP rated One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest a 3. What a twit.

reply

Not every movie can be directed by Michael Bay. (Thank goodness)

Now exactly what DO you like. I can't imagine. The scene where Steven Rea is working all night on the first batch of bodies and all you hear is voice describing stab wounds and such then the camera tracks up to show his eyes brimming over with tears is UNFORGETTABLE.
