No longer popular?

It seems like the character of Casper is pretty much forgotten about by most people these days. Am I right in saying this or is he still popular?

reply

No, you are correct the character is no longer popular anymore. Most kids probably don't know who he is, but older generations do.

I thought...children loved him the most. LOL

I would suggest introducing your kids to the movie then. My daughter loves it.

I find that 90's kids are probably the last decade to know Casper, early 2000's at most. With that being said, parents, aunts, uncles, and the like, where are y'all? Let's show these kids what they're missing....

I don't think 90s kids really knew Casper either until the film came out. I can remember seeing some cartoons, but I think that came afterwards and as a reaction to the movie.

Yeah, the revival didn't last long. I miss the 90s, movies and especially music were better overall. 9/11 hadn't happened yet, and Columbine didn't happen until the end. People still talked to each other and weren't on their phones all the time. Nothing's ever perfect, but I personally preferred those days.

I was about 21 when this came out and had only barely knew about him from a few old comics and movie references. I'm not sure the box office did very well, but all sequels were relegated to straight-to-video. The now-dead cartoon and TV movies were probably his last chances at popularity.

My kids love Casper. I introduced them to the cartoon and movie years ago. They love Casper as much as I do.
