What was it like seeing this movie in theatres?

I really wish I could have, but my mom was actually pregnant with me when they released Casper. Anyone have interesting stories to share?

I was twelve when I saw it in theaters, and I loved it! It just captivated me.

I can't remember anyone else's reaction, though.

I saw this in theaters with my two sisters and parents. I remember we were at the mall and decided to see a movie, this was one of the movies playing and us kids wanted to see it. I was 8 years old a the time. I remember watching it and being amazed and drawn into the movie. I loved every minute of it and didn't want it to end. I also remember being kind of sad because the next day was Monday and that meant school (which I hated). But, it was definitely a good movie to see in theaters as a kid with your family. I also remember that we got the movie on VHS when it came out.

I went to watch it at he age of 13. I remember thinking I was all grown up because I got to take my younger sister and cousin to see it aha. Instantly loved the movie. I remember it being busy but I mainly remember getting the most ridiculous teen crush on Christina Ricci lol. Think I used all my pocket money going back to watch it and buying the collectible stickers, which I'm sure I still own lol.

Take me to the hospital!

I saw with my mother back when I was in 4th grade, we both enjoyed it. I was nine years old at the time. I don't remember the audience's reaction seeing as it was almost 19 years ago.

I saw it while on vacation with my family. As a promo item they were selling Casper theme yoghurt at the supermarket that week and I remember devouring those that had a marshmallowie flavor to them that i had never tasted before or after, I guess they were supposed to taste like Casper and now that I think about it, the yoghurt was supposed to be Casper.
Anyway, we loved it. I will have my tickets from that time. I was 11.

I went to the movie theatre with my father and my sister. I was 7. We'd been looking forward to it for so long, and we loved it so much that when it was over we didn't even got up from the sits, just sat there and watched it all over again! ^.^ It was such a wonderful day, I remember it like it was yesterday.

No different than watching any other movie in a theater, I'd imagine. I was 14 when it came out, and I saw it, but as that was nearly 20 years ago, you can't honestly expect anyone to remember a single movie-watching experience, unless they had an exceptional experience.

Honestly though, you can imagine it as being virtually the same as any other movie in theaters. When you go see a movie in theaters, does it really seem any different than any other movie you saw in a theater? The experiences are all largely the same, with the exception of 3D films and sound systems varying from theater to theater.

Just think of any other movie you've seen both in theater and on your TV set. The difference there would be the same as it was with Casper. I must admit, though, that I often wish I could have seen certain movies on the big screen but for some reason never got a chance to. It's just more fun that way. :)
