What a bunch of pompus asses!!!

This had to be one of the most stuck up English movie I have ever seen and I have seen a LOT of stuck up English movies! These had to be the most unhappiest characters ever put on film for there was no way I could relate to any of them, they were just too damned pathetic. Though there is much to recommend despite my nasty comments. Jonathan Pryce shoulda got an oscar nomination for this, Penny Rose's costumes are to die for and there is a scene in which the characters dance around to What a Friend we have in Jesus that is very funny. Seeing all these people gussied up and cutting loose to a church hymn, too cool for words.

so what... you hated it, but you liked it?

or are you american and found the accents hard to follow, and have never heard of the bloomsbury group *rolls eyes*

Are you American by any chance? All the English pompous arses I know and to whom you refer, can at least spell!

johnyzero_2000: If you're on medication, please take it. If you're not, please get on it. (And by the way, there's really no call for all the juvenile, foot stomping, exclamation marks.) Thank you, from an American who's ashamed of you and those like you.

Make up your mind moron. The first half you act like you hate it and then you go on to say wonderful things about it...are you *beep* bipolar or what?

A lot of alliteration from anxious anchors placed in powerful posts!

Well, all this depressing and annoying British aristocratic dialogue is very cringeworthy. In this movie in particular the problem is like with many other films because the characters' dialogue is almost always about philosophy, morality, or something necessarily formal sounding. Couldnt casual dialogue and thus realistic people have been shown? And I don't mean the gypsy carnival. These people are at a party and are not regular people.
I found listening to this type of English conversation to be very difficult.
