We have a sense of right and wrong that is taught to us from the time we are old enough to understand. The consequences do not change only the circumstances. We are complex, but our sense of self preservation is not something we are always prepared to risk. There are always the familiar and the need for safety and warmth and comfort that comes from something you have nurtured - so is love.
