Four days or four billion light-years (in the book)

In the novel, the author writes:

"To the universe, four days is no different than four billion light-years".

This is a gross mistake, as day is a measure of time and light-year is a measure of distance.

May be this was intentional to get some extra free publicity from the always attentive reader of the Times of London sending a letter to the Director of the English newspaper:

Dear sir, have you noticed...

Well I never read the book but I heard the writing was terrible. The guy who wrote it, I forget his name, wasn't a professional writer but a Professor of economics who had an affair and he wrote the book based on that for whatever reason, and some publisher who must have been drunk at the time bought the book and it became huge. Why it became huge? I don't know. I guess the same reason Fifty shades of grey and Twilight became huge: Women.

And by the way - If that quote was actually in the book, that has got to be probably the dumbest thing I have ever read in any professionally published book in my life.

"To the universe, four days is no different than four billion light-years".

That sentence is so ultra-retarded it's unreal. I am assuming he meant that to the dead, 4 years is no different than 4 billion years. But instead he brings the universe into it which is like saying "To the refrigerator, 4 years is no different than 4 billion years" What the F does that even mean besides the fact that the universe would be a hell of a lot different in 4 billion years than 4? I feel like buying this book just out of curiosity just to see how bad it is. This reminds me of Paul Schraeders script for the movie "Taxi driver" It was an utter mess from hell and somehow Scorsese turned it into a masterpiece.

Speaking of Fifty shades, I read somewhere that Salman Rushdie said:

'Fifty Shades of Grey makes Twilight look like War and Peace'

hehe...

I am surprised that the novel "The bridges of Madison County" has been so successful in the whole world.

I bought the Kindle edition and didn't like it. I would not said antything else to avoid offending sensibilities.

I didn't like "Fifty shades..." either, btw.

Haven't read "Twilight", but I guess it is some sort of simple reading for teenagers.

LOL! That is awesome! A friend of mine knew Rushdie when that whole "Fatwah" thing was going on, he said he was the most calm person her ever met in his life, that he knew a billion fanatics were out to kill him but he just didn't care, he said he had balls of titanium, LOL completely fearless. You know what I'm reading now, is The Exorcist by William Blatty. He just died last week and I realized I never read the book, so I bought the Kindle version on Amazon and holy cow, this guy was a brilliant writer. Just read the first 2 pages of that book, utterly brilliant, the detail is unreal. He even describes the smells of the dig in Iraq.
