Would Robert Reed have Enjoyed this film?

Since he didn't care for the slapstick/ silly tone the episodes took on, would his attitude be 'finally these things that have bothered me all these years are coming out for everyone to see ' or would he think 'ok, for better or for worst this show is what I'm going to be remembered for, and they're making fun of it'?

reply

I’m sure he would have died laughing.

Nobody enjoyed this film.

reply

I did. Maybe it's just because I liked the show

reply

I liked the show, too!

Until I turned 11 or 12...

reply

I haven't seen it in a few years, but I just thought it was really funny that I remembered everything so well and had all the references still engrained in my mind.

reply

Things get strongly imprinted in our brains at that age. I can still remember my favorite childhood books in embarrassing detail, even though I haven't touched the damn things in 50 years, and I'm over sixty!

reply

I think so. He seemed to enjoy sending up the show on Day By Day.

reply

Maybe. It was better than the original show and it made fun of it. He never liked the show that much and was always at odds with the creator of the show. So yeah, he might have liked it.

reply

I doubt it. Reed was known as kind of a dick.

reply

I like to think he would've liked it. There are actors who initially hated their characters or the shows premise, but come around. Both Leonard Nimoy and Patrick Stewart were uptight about their characters but learned to embrace it and the show later on.

reply

I don't think he would have liked it. Reed took his work very seriously. The Bradys (1990) was the type of series he wanted the original to be.
