Their point is just to see it. It's basically a roadie film with three women. Whoopie Goldberg is a lesbian who is an unsuccessful singer. She meets Mary-Louise Parker through a car-pooling arrangement going from the East to West coast. Mary-Louise has a relatively successful career but little luck in love, except for that one time with the guy who gave her AIDS. Along the way they pick up Drew Barrymore, who is Whoopi's friend. She is pregnant and leaving an abusive relationship with a drug dealing boyfriend. Unfortunately, in escaping she beats him with a bat and leaves him to die (hence trouble with the law). Naturally, the plot thickens after that.
