I remember stories in the local press that the council would clean up graffiti and rubbish in areas where filming was due to take place, only for the film makers to return them to their authentic state for the cameras.. o_O
I had friends who lived around Raleigh Cresent and Drakes Drive, it was pretty weird seeing that area in a movie. The 1967 film 'Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush' had many scenes in the same area too, oddly enough.
I seem to recall that some of the scenes would jump from Stevenage to Harlow town centres, as a character turned a corner. Bit disconcerting that..
