the one thing i dont get about this film is, why does everywhere i look, it makes out michael j fox has a big role? when in fact he is only in it for 5 minutes!! i bought it a week or so ago thinking he had a fairly big role. imagine my disappointment when i realised! Im not having a go at the film, i still thought it was good, it just annoys me that people can mislead u like that.
shareI guess they used his name to make you (and many others) go see it. I'm not a big fan of M. J. Fox, but I don't like when the name of actors are used to sell movies. Especially when the actor have only a minor part like this. It is, as you said yourself, somewhat misleading. Sadly, this is the way the business works nowdays and it's no way around it.
I always try to watch movies based on who made the movie and not who's in it. All good actors have some bad movies on their record. And so does directors. Now I forgot where I was going with this... Oh well you probably understand my initial point.
Anyway... Blue in the Face is a good movie and it always cheers me up. It's worth the money you paid for it.
Blue in the Face is a sequel to Smoke and if you haven't seen that already, you should. It's very different from BITF but very good. Indeed!

Well im the biggest Michael J Foxfan ever and i also think it was kinda a sham that Michael wasn't in the film longer. I still enjoyed the film, just wish Foxhad a bigger role.
shareOh my goodness! It's been almost 8 years since I wrote that reply up there. I just came from watching Blue in the Face and I accidentally clicked this thread and noticed my own name here.
I just wanted to say that my views have changed since then. Michael J. Fox is great. And he did pretty darn good in this movie.
I still like Blue in the Face alot, but I definatly look at the movie differently than what I did back in 2004. I was about to delete my post, but decided to do it this way instead. You can't take back what you say in RL, so why should I do that here? :)

Also...if you look at all the advertising when the film came out, he wasn't listed as the star, but as part of an ensemble. Who/what is making it sound it's one of "his" films? Unless some search engine movie site put his name up with the film?
shareI think MJF was always interested in his representations on film over time (i.e., his image) and wouldn't have ordinarily played this role. So, I'm glad he did this cameo because he was great!
