UN envoy Gambari meets with Suu Kyi

http://www.indiaenews.com/asia/20070930/72910.htm

Does anyone else out there think it's remarkable how relevant this film is still today? The article gives little detail of the meeting itself--I am presuming that limited reporting was agreed to by Gambari prior to the meeting.

Meanwhile, protests and violence in the area seem to be ongoing. At the moment I don't have the latest reports. If anyone else has more, please add to this.

Interesting indeed. It is what brought me here today...

Thank you miyazaki2 for posting! I myself spent much of my early childhood in Southeast Asia. That is probably one reason why I feel such empathy for those being persecuted in this conflict.

Just to follow up on my subject matter, I found an excellent photo of Gambari and Suu Kyi. They do indeed look quite somber after their meeting. Here is a link to that photo:

nice pic, and I agree... it is a travesty what the Burmese must endure.
