Also look at the John Rambo messageboard for more discussion about the movie and Burma. Excellent photos with the article from above link. One very disturbing photo of dead body in a river. Article also includes report from defected junta leader Hla Win: "Many more people have been killed in recent days than you've heard about. The bodies can be counted in several thousand."

EDIT: From CNN.com (link below)
BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) -- One hundred shot dead outside a Myanmar school. Activists burned alive at government crematoriums. A Buddhist monk floating face down in a river.

more photos ยป After last week's brutal crackdown by the military, horror stories are filling Myanmar blogs and dissident sites. But the tight security of the repressive regime makes it impossible to verify just how many people are dead, detained or missing.

EDIT2: (Oct 9) China is refusing to back sanctions of Myanmar trade that could be possibly used as int'l leverage against recent tyranny, especially cruelty toward the monks of Myanmar. Also, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's party is calling for "no preconditions" for her proposed talks with Myanmar leaders.
