Where to buy Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Does anybody know where can I get this film?

reply

I'm searching for it as well. Any help is much appreciated.

I don't know how to get hold of this DVD either. I saw this film a long time ago, before it was actually released, I think, at a film festival. I had to work very hard to find the music by Wim Mertens, but I finally managed that. I think we're probably out of luck as far as owning a copy of this beautiful, haunting(indeed) film.

We should contact the producer or director. Who produced it? If someone finds a way to get a copy, please let me know!

The movie is available together with 7 other (mostly arthouse-) movies in a box:
It`s the 'Marion Hansel Collection' released by Belga Home Video at Amazon.de/Barbarische-Hochzeit/The-Quarry or on ebay at dvdfunprice.be
The boxes at Amazon are expensive (140 - 170 Euro), ebay is much cheaper but there are only a few boxes left.
The titles of the other movies in the box are The Quarry (which is quite thrilling), Sur la Terre comme au Ciel, Nuages (a film with only different kinds of clouds in it and a mother`s voice reading letters to her son), Le Lit (about a fataly ill man and his wife who has to cope with his illness), Il Maestro, Les Noces Barbares, and Dust.
There`s a long review on all these films at Amazon.de (in German). If you don`t like arthouse films, better don`t buy it. I just bought it because of Stephen Rea and 'Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea' which, in my opinion, is the best movie of the whole box. Sometimes this movie is named 'Li' or 'Li, between the devil and the deep blue sea'. The German title is 'Der Teufel und die tiefe blaue See'.
I hope I was able to help you with this information. If you have further questions contact me at [email protected]
