If not Joel Schumacker to direct after Tim Burton, then who?

My pick is Stephan Hopkins.

He's was a decent action/crime/thriller director with cool visuals like Predator 2 and Nightmare on Elm Street 5

I'm probably alone in this but, I would love to have seen a Paul Verhoeven interpretation of Batman.

reply

No I agree that would've been cool.

Just to toss a name around, 1995 post True Lies James Cameron would probably have been fun.

John Mcteran
Kathryn Bigelow
James Cameron
Paul Verhoven
David Cronenberg
Ridley Scott

reply

Well damn I see that 2 of my picks got taken already.

I think Tony Scott would have done a real visionary job with Batman. His unique style (especially Crimson Tide/True Romance era) would have been cool to see.

reply

Yeah he'd be a good choice too, probably a really fast paced Batman movie.

reply

James Cameron.

I just thought about this the other day, I wonder if they wanted to keep the same flavor as the Tim Burton movies, how would a a live-action Batman movie directed by Henry Selick be like? Selick collaborated with Tim Burton on The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Ridley Scott, who probably would've been up for it as in that period he wasn't doing much at all (1492 in 92, White Squall/GI Jane in 96/97).

Imagining Scotts Gotham is a tantalizing prospect..or a Roy Batty like Riddler, Pris like Harley Quinn. would've been amazing

also Alex Proyas..

Ridley Scott would be soo fricking awesome!
