This movie shows how the innocence and the truthfulness of the human heart are still alive in a society where all that matters is looks.

I saw this movie on television the other day and I absolutely enjoyed it! The little girl was adorable and the story was simple but compelling... Well done!!!

I caught this film on the Sundance Channel by accident. Every time the little girl began to pout or sulk or cry, it made me feel really sad and that's what made me love it so much!

It's a fine film, but I would call it disturbing rather than heartwarming. I think it was meant to be a harsh critique of the predatory nature of Iranian society today, which tramples the weak and the innocent under foot.

You are over-reacting, with a classic american agresive attitude to middle east culture.

C'mon! It was filmed in 1995!! its purpose is to tell us a simple and plain history.

Those of us who are not americans, neither live in the U.S. find it very charming, I repeat: it is not an "against arab evilness" protest movie.

Sorry but you don't know what you are talking about. There are no Arabs in this film.

It is an Iranian film about Iranians that was made primarily for an Iranian audience. I respect it a lot for its honesty and courageous social critique.

I found it charming AND disturbing, which is exactly what I think the director was hoping for.

Not that I have any problem with Arabs but Iranians and Arabs are very different from the language to the general culture

I'm so glad I found this movie. I first watched it in 1998 and I was transfixed by it and it started a huge romance with Iran for me. I have never forgotten this movie but I did forget its title. Last night I watched "Where Is the Friends Home" and thought hey this reminds me of...and it low and behold is by the same director. I'm so glad to be reunited with this fine film after 17 years and now more works by Mr Abbas Kiarostami. His work is beautiful art.
