Arsenio was apparently offered to be Martin Lawrence's co-star before they went to Will Smith but he turned it down. A lot of what makes Bad Boys work is the chemistry and banter between Smith and Lawrence and Arsenio and Eddie Murphy had their own variation of that in Coming to America.
