Tea Leoni's character doesn't make a lot of sense


She sees her friend get murdered by violent gangsters, she then knows that the violent gangsters are after her, then she meets two guys who can protect her from the violent gangsters.

And then she spends the rest of the movie doing everything she can to get away from the two guys that can protect her, while putting herself in the most stupidly dangerous situations possible.

She was just eye candy for the movie, no use in thinking much about it.

Tea Leoni's character kind of if you ask me, comes across as a "hot lady" version of Joe Pesci's Leo Getz character in the Lethal Weapon sequels. A quirky, somewhat annoying, sidekick-witness character that the cop heroes have to protect.

She was playing a hooker. She's learned not to trust cops. Then when she finally did, she discovered they were lying to her.
