Babysitters Club and The Parent Trap (1998)

Watching this movie, I realize the similarities between Kristy ' storyline and her characters to Hallie's in The Parent Trap, which debuted just a few years later. I wonder if they were inspired by Kristy's character and the fact that they're both redheads? Anyway, just thought that was cool..and good movie!
