...okay. And this movie is targeted towards young girls too. Even when I saw this as a kid, I thought that was pretty messed up.

18/14 probably doesn't happen very often here in the US, and would generally be regarded as sorta squicky. It'd definitely raise my eyebrows. (Of course, I had only the mildest interest in dating even during college, so I guess I never fully understood what the big deal was for these kids/young characters.)
