Babe was way too small to be eaten. I assume they used a small pig because it would be cuter, but it made no sense that the Hoggets almost ate him.

But they didn’t eat him

Don’t act all sheepish.

Thy used 35 pigs. They grew too fast to keep using the same pig.

People do eat pigs that size, or slightly larger, for whole roast "suckling pig" BBQs.
