Remember those Babe toys they had in McDonald's Happy Meals?

I had a few of them as a kid. I know I had Babe, Fly, Ferdinand, The Singing Mouse, and the Cat I think.

But what I think is ironic and a tad strange now that I didn't realize when I was a kid, the whole idea of this film seems to be about promoting vegetarianism and animal rights. So WHY would they allow McDonald's to have anything to do with the film?

When I was a kid of 8 years old I never really understood the message of the film. I just thought it was a fun movie to watch but I watched it again yesterday and now that I do understand the message of it I find myself pondering this question.

Hmmm....

! That is ironic, but not surprising. The "H" in Hollywood might as well stand for hypocrite. They would've slapped Babe's mug on a package of sausage if the money was right.

Look at a film like "Wall-E". It beats you over the head with environmental messages as you sit in an air conditioned theater, which you drove to in a car, and they shill tons of merchandise with Wall-E's face on it that they know will end up in a land fill.

Hypocrites, all of them.

A good reminder that this silly movie is not going to turn the world into "fanatic vegans".
P.S.: I don't mind practical vegetarians. Is "militant" vegans I hate.

I've never seen this as a 'message' movie, except that being loving and kind is a good thing.

The only toy I got from there was a couple of the sheep, which I still have!

Come now, McDonald's burgers hardly qualify as being meat

Humans have evolved to be omnivores therefore should remain so just has bears. There's nothing wrong with eating meat
