Requesting Spoiler Information

I am still unable to get a copy of the film. As I have been reading through the comments on the board I am confused about something. Someone wrote ..."Did P.L. reveal to Uncle Vernon that he was Stella's father, or did he go to his death with no one ever knowing the truth but him?" Perhaps I misread this comment but can someone tell me if Alan Rickman's character killed himself at the end? Whad DID happen to him? Any assistance is deeply appreciated.
