One of the best Weezer tunes is in this flick.

I haven't seen this flick in so long and wouldn't mind watching it again. I remember being fifteen and watching this film just to hear the kick ass Weezer song at the end. That song is "You Gave Your Love to Me Softly." I remember really liking this film too but never had a chance to watch it again. It's a shame it's not on DVD.

i see when u wrote this so i doubt u will read it but if by chance u check for any replies u'll see it. Weezer is one of the greatest rock bands of our time and r hardly recognized for it. and im not talkin about Beverly Hills, though be it a decent song. im talking about songs from Pinkerton and the Blue Album. Probably some of the greatest albums ever made. and a word on Angus it is a shame its not on DVD.

He mentioned that the original poster would probably never read his post. then he mentioned Weezer as being a very good band, if somewhat under-credited. he then went on to conclude that their older music, such as the songs from the albums Pinkerton and Weezer (the blue one) were better than newer songs such as Beverly Hills. He suggested that Pinkerton and Blue are two of the best albums any band has ever made. Then he extended his condolences that the movie Angus was never released on DVD. Tu comprendes?

That song is good but this movie has another great song in it. J.A.R by greenday

I also like the song "Ain't It Unusual" by Goo Goo Dolls which is played at the part where Angus was getting of the bus.

Heck yes. JAR is by far my favorite Green Day song of all time!

Definitely agree, YGYLTMS - that's 'You gave your love to me softly' :) - is one of the best Weezer songs ever. One of the main reasons why I love Angus. Thing is though, the mix they use for the film is slighty different to the Pinkerton b-side. Anyone know where I can get the film mix?

um...the Angus soundtrack?

Just as a side note, the song Rivers Cuomo intended to be on the soundtrack was "Wanda" It can be found on the original solo album by Rivers Cuomo called "Alone", and of course is on youtube. "You gave your love to me softly" is one of my favorites because it is an interesting mix of blue/pinkerton style sound.

My thoughts exactly, para_owl. First time I heard it, I had a hard time deciphering which period it came from. In many ways, it's one of the quintessential Weezer songs and a truly under-rated classic in its own right. I still have the El Scorcho EP (its original release) and listen to it frequently. A personal favorite of mine and a great way to cap off the movie.
