The only bad review is on the front page - Why?
This was a great movie.
Excellent story.
Perfect acting.
Very sad - but seemed real.
All of the reviews except 1 is positive.
The one negative review is on the Movies first page.
Why is that??
Because the movie sucks. I'm sorry. I'm usually not - like never - the diss-the-movie person on message boards, but I cannot keep myself from telling the world that this movie is not good. Or, let me rephrase to stop you from hating me, I personally didn't like it AT ALL.
I watch a lot of movies and this is the only one - since 'my stepmother is an alien' - that I couldn't bear to finish. Maybe I stopped before it actually started to be something else than a piece of *beep* I hope I did. I'm glad that you, amongst others, found a way to enjoy this monster of a movie.
However, I did like the wheel of fortune thing though, that was cute, just like the basic idea and the summary of the film. But the Astral stuff? WHY? The whole boring stuff? WHY? The general suckiness? WHY WHY WHY?
Hehe. That felt good. I should do this more often. Like, right now. I'll be at the "my stepmother is an alien' board!
Well I thought it was incredibly moving, beautifully shot with great acting. Thumbs up for a wonderful Aussie film. I'm glad it won best film at the AFIs, it was well deserved.
It's all about The Rush
I so disagree with you that this movies sucks.
I saw it in a treater twelve years ago and I still think about it from time-to-time.
It surely helps that I bought the soundtrack and really enjoy that too.
I'm not saying it is some sort of fantastic masterpiece but in the sub-category of movies about mental illness, Angel Baby rates among one of the better ones I've seen (and I've seen more than a few since I have an interest in that subject.)
